The Share TMD Initiative

Jaw pain and temporomandibular disorders (TMD) affect many Canadians, often making it hard to eat, speak, or smile comfortably. Despite how common these problems are, it can be difficult to find clear, trustworthy information about what causes them and how to treat them.

Too often, people come across confusing or misleading advice online, while reliable, science-based information is harder to find. The SHARE initiative  was created to change that.

Our goal is to bring together researchers, clinicians, and people with lived experience to share up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge about TMDs in a way that’s easy to understand and accessible to everyone.

Here, you’ll find:

  • Summaries of the latest research and what it means for patients and providers;

  • Educational resources based on science, not trends;

  • Opportunities to learn from experts and trusted organizations; and

  • Stories and practical tools to help people living with jaw pain.

By connecting science, education, and real experience, we aim to build awareness, reduce misinformation, and help improve care for people with jaw pain across Canada.

The SHARE initiative is supported by the Canadian Institute of Health Research.
